Wheat bran is a by-product of wheat grain milling and grinding. Wheat bran is usually produced during milling for white flour production. During whole grain production, only the husks are removed and the grain and bran are processed further. Wheat bran is a concentrated source of insoluble fiber. It has a laxative effect due partly to the fiber being only partially digested.
